Author of Theme 1: Back to the Beach – Aqua Beach Tell the girls to come dressed in their swimsuits and get ready to beach it! Decorations: What you’ll need to prepare: · Beach balls – Place balls on the floor and hang them from the ceiling with fishing line · Palm trees, leis, beach umbrellas, surfboards · Beach towels – Open towels and spread over the floor so girls can pretend to lay in the sun Invitations: · Blow up a beach ball and write all the important information for the party on the ball with permanent marker. Deflate the ball and place it in an envelope with a note to have guests bring their invitation to the party. · Spell out the guest’s name by stamping dots with Bingo markers on the mailing envelope. Try adhesive dots for similar affect. Food and Refreshments: Dinner: Serve Snake Sandwiches (sub sandwich on baguette bread) · Cut the bread into sections and lay slices on a platter to form a snake. Add a pickle for a tongue and two olive slices for eyes. Serve with potato chips or potato salad. · Slide fruit chunks onto wooden skewers and arrange them into a pineapple for a great centerpiece and yummy part of the meal. Drink: Serve Frozen Twister Slushies - Freeze juice drinks overnight then grate juice into cups Midnight Snacks: Create an ice cream sundae bar with Dots candy and Nilla Wafers Breakfast: Serve waffles with toppings such as blueberries, strawberries, plums, and green grapes Activity 1: Play TWISTER DANCE DVD game (Aqua Beach Session) Activity 2: Follow the Toes – TWISTER DANCE Pedicure Girls polish their nails and toes using the polish found in their favor bags. Once the girls’ toes are colorfully painted and dry, start playing TWISTER DANCE DVD game. Activity 3: Twisted Yarn Beach Ball Toss Start the game with girls forming a circle. Give one girl a skein of yarn and have them toss the yarn back and forth, wrapping the yarn around wrists before letting it go. When all the yarn is used up, have Mom put a beach ball in the center and let the girls toss the beach ball up and down on the yarn not letting it fall to the floor. Favors: Buy each girl a beach pail and fill each with a bottle of nail polish (purchase purple, green, red and blue, the Twister colors), flip-flops, and sunscreen. |
