Quick Tips for Mom to Follow When Celebrating

TWISTER DANCE SlumberJumber

By Award-Winning Author Wilhelminia Ripple, Author of
Slumber Parties…What Do I Do?®

1.      Have a Chat with your Daughter:

Set aside a time to sit down with your daughter to discuss your TWISTER DANCE SlumberJumber. Listen to your daughter’s ideas for what she thinks should be incorporated in her “ultimate sleepover party”. Then, share your thoughts about the party.

2.      Start Planning Your Sleepover:

Choose a Theme

Guest Suggestions

·        Invite the same number of guests as your child’s age

·        Invite girls close in age

·        Talk with your daughter to make sure all the invited girls will get along

Invitations

·        Log onto www.twisterdance.com to create customized invitations that can be printed and given out to friends.

·        Design invitations that reflect the theme of your party

o       Your invitation should include:

§        Items that you want the girls to bring (sleeping bags, pajamas, and toothbrushes). Include anything out of the ordinary that the girls may need to bring for a special sleepover theme.

§        Include all meals to be served. Dinner is optional, however breakfast is considered standard.

§        Pick-up time

Decorations

·        Decorations should reflect the theme of the party.

o       Create fun signs that say “Caution:  Girls in Pajamas on the Loose” or “Sleepy Heads Go Home!” Hang the signs outside the front door and on the walls of the party room.

o       Make an autograph wall with butcher paper so girls can sign their names and draw pictures of what they think they look like dancing to the TWISTER DANCE DVD game.

3.      The Morning After:

o       Cook breakfast - Girls will slowly wake up when they hear others moving around and smell breakfast cooking.

o       Wake late sleepers at least 30-60 minutes before pickup time to allow them time to wakeup, gather their stuff, and eat.

o       Be sure not to plan anything important the day after a Slumber Party. You and your child will be tired and need a day to rest!
