About Us

Oakbrook Publishing House publishes high quality, award-winning party books in the What Do I Do?® series. The series is about having fun experiences, creating fond memories, and solving the readers’ problems. The company was founded in January 1996 by Wilhelminia Ripple.

Awards

Halloween School Parties…What Do I Do?® won the Benjamin Franklin Gold Award for Best First Book and a Gold Award for Best Cover Design. It also won the Silver Award from the Colorado Independent Publishers Association in the “How To” category along with placing third in the Quality Books Small Press Top 40.

Who We Are

  • Wilhelminia (Willie) Ripple, mother of three, from Littleton, Colorado, is the author of the What Do I Do?® series.
  • Deborah Arcuri is the hidden treasure behind Oakbrook Publishing, and is our ingenious Publicity and Marketing Manager.
  • Mark Jr., Nick, and Michelle Ripple have been the test victims for most ideas in Willie’s books and are her children.
  • Dianne Lorang is the copy editor of the What Do I Do?® books.
  • Heather Anderson is the illustrator for our books.
  • Bobbi Shupe is our cover designer for our books.
  • Rebecca Finkel of F&P Graphics is our magical layout artist.
  • Kathy Totten is a contributing author of Slumber Parties…What Do I Do?®. She created the invitations and stories.
  • Nell Minow has recommended the Videos in Slumber Parties…What Do I Do?® and is the author of The Movie Mom’s Guide to Family Movies.
